How we price your shower

No guesses from a price list. Every shower is different underneath, so we look before we quote — and the number we give you is the number you pay.

  1. Send photos or book a visit. A few pictures from your phone are often enough; otherwise we come by, free, for about an hour.
  2. We check what matters. Condition behind the surfaces, plumbing and electrical, access, permits — the things that actually move the cost.
  3. You get a fixed, itemised price in writing. Free, no obligation, and it does not change after you sign unless you change the scope.

The three things that decide whether it goes well

The pan and the curb are where showers fail

Most failed showers we see leaked at the pan or the curb, not through the tile. We install a bonded sheet membrane, slope the floor to the drain, flood-test the pan and photograph it before any tile goes on.

Tub-to-shower is a plumbing job first

Turning a tub into a walk-in shower moves the drain and the valve, and often needs a new vent. We plan the plumbing, the permit and the inspection before we talk about tile, so the shower drains properly for decades.

Low or no curb, safer every day

A low-threshold or curbless shower is easier to step into and easier to clean. Where the floor framing allows it, we recess the shower floor so the transition is flush with the bathroom floor.

What California law already entitles you to

Most of these are rights you have with any contractor. We are listing them because a contractor who is uncomfortable with them is telling you something.

Your deposit is capped by statute

For a home improvement contract, a deposit may not exceed $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less — Business & Professions Code §7159.5. Anyone asking for a third up front is breaking the law, not driving a hard bargain.

The licence is public — check ours

Any work over $500 requires an active CSLB licence. Ours is #1130134, and you can verify it, our bond and our workers' compensation on the state's own site: CSLB licence lookup.

You get it in writing before work starts

A home improvement contract must be in writing, with the scope, the price and a payment schedule tied to work completed, before any work begins. That is how we write every job anyway.

Three days to change your mind

You have a three-business-day right to cancel a home improvement contract signed at your home, and longer if you are 65 or over. We will remind you of it rather than hope you forget.

Questions we get asked before signing

Do you remodel just the shower?

Yes. Shower-only remodels and tub-to-shower conversions are among our most requested jobs. We can leave the rest of the bathroom as it is or update the vanity and floor at the same time.

How long does a shower remodel take?

Most shower remodels take one to two weeks on site, longer if the drain moves or a permit is needed. You get a dated schedule with your written price.

Do I need a permit for a shower remodel?

If the drain, valve or walls change, usually yes. Replacing tile and fixtures in the same position often does not. We confirm at the visit and handle the permit if one is needed.

How do I get a shower remodel quote?

Fill in the form on this page with a few photos, or book a free visit. We reply within 3 to 6 business hours on weekdays and give you a written fixed price.

How much deposit do you take?

By California law a home improvement contract deposit cannot exceed $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. We do not ask for more than that.

Ready for a real number?

We will look at your shower, tell you what it needs, and put a fixed price in writing. The visit and the estimate are free, and there is no obligation at the end of them.
