Roofing Materials: What We Install and Why It Matters

The material you choose affects warranty length, fire rating, weight load on the structure, and long-term maintenance. Here's what we work with and when we recommend each system.

GAF Timberline HDZ Shingles
Used for: Standard replacement

Class A fire-rated, 130 mph wind-rated, 30-year warranty. The most common replacement choice in Bay Area residential.

Owens Corning Duration Shingles
Used for: Premium comp shingle

SureNail technology for uplift resistance. Good choice for hillside homes with higher wind exposure.

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin)
Used for: Low-slope / flat roofs

Heat-welded seams, highly UV-resistant, and compatible with roof decks that can't support tile weight.

Modified Bitumen
Used for: Flat roof repairs/replacement

Torch-down or cold-applied. Durable and repairable. Common on SF flats.

Boral Concrete Tile
Used for: Tile replacement

50+ year lifespan, Class A fire rating, and excellent wind resistance. Requires structural check for load capacity.

We explain every material choice in our proposals. You know what's going into your home and why before any work starts.
