Stucco Materials: What We Use on Bay Area Projects

Stucco system selection depends on the existing substrate, moisture exposure, and the type of finish required.

La Habra Stucco (Quanex)
Used for: Three-coat repairs

Standard Portland cement-based system. Long track record in California. Accepts integral pigment for color-match finishes.

Parex elastomeric stucco
Used for: Fine-crack recoating

20-mil elastomeric membrane bridges hairline cracks. Breathable and rated for California UV and moisture cycling.

Vycor window flashing tape
Used for: Window and door heads

Self-adhesive, waterproof. Required at all penetrations when stucco is being removed — this is where most water gets in.

Lath — 17-ga galvanized expanded
Used for: New stucco substrate

Required by California building code when applying stucco to a new or fully removed system.

We explain every material choice in our proposals. You know what's going into your home and why before any work starts.
