Foundation Repair Materials and Methods

The right repair system depends on what is actually failing. Here are the primary approaches we use and when each applies.

Simpson Strong-Tie anchor bolts
Used for: Mudsill-to-foundation connection

Code-specified connectors for seismic retrofits. Installed through the mudsill into the foundation with epoxy or expansion anchor.

15/32" Structural Plywood
Used for: Cripple wall sheathing

Adds shear resistance to the cripple wall — the primary purpose of a seismic retrofit. Nailed per the engineer's schedule.

Carbon fiber straps (StablWall)
Used for: Cracked or bowing foundation walls

Non-invasive repair that resists further movement. Does not require excavation.

Helical piers (MacLean)
Used for: Foundation underpinning

Drilled to bearing soil below problem layer. Hydraulically tested to load capacity before the structure's weight is transferred.

We explain every material choice in our proposals. You know what's going into your home and why before any work starts.
